Constitution Hill
Constitution Hill tells the story of South Africa’s turbulent past and its extraordinary transition to democracy. This heritage site witnessed over a century of South Africa’s history from Boer soldiers who fought with the British soldiers, the youth caught up in the Soweto Uprising, to the dawn of democracy and the building of South Africa’s Constitutional Court. The flame that burns outside the Constitutional Court signifies the commitment of the country to democracy, human rights and constitutionalism.

Croc City and Reptile Park
CROCK WORLD provide students from all ages the opportunity to enjoy a hands-on learning experience.
Their aim is to assist with conservation through education.
The level of the lectures is based on the learner's appropriate age group.
This morning excursion to Croc World start off with an informative DVD on crocodiles in the lecture area. After the presentation, the students are taken on a "touch and feel" session where they get the opportunity to hold crocodile eggs, skins, skulls and real live baby crocodiles.
An experienced guide will then take the students on an informative guided tour of the park. There are from small to giant crocodiles of more than 5 meter in length.
After a lunch break there is a group reptile session, where they discuss some fascinating reptiles that are on display and can be held.
In the end all the students get the chance to hold a python before they leave.

This fun and educational tour at Grants dairy, situated on the border of Alberton and Germiston, includes a lecture on farm animals.
The learners will have the opportunity to touch, feed and interact with farm animals. It also includes cheese and yoghurt tasting and playing games with the learners (boere-sport and others). Each child receives a fruit juice and an ice-cream. Grants Dairy do not have cows on the premises, but have their own herd of Saanen dairy goats. In season, baby goats can be bottle fed.

THE NATIONAL MILITARY HISTORY MUSEUM TOUR
The museum houses some of the rarest military equipment in the world, including the world-famous Me262 jet aircraft of the Second World War. GoldReef City Educational Trip
The “Jozi’s Story of Gold” Heritage tour educates our young South Africans and brings their rich history alive. Learners descend 75 metres into one of the deepest underground mines in the world, feel the heat as they watch real gold being poured right in front of their eyes and relive the past, while visiting our mining houses that haven’t changed in over 100 years. Children can also pan for gold the old fashioned way, and then watch a fascinating movie about one of the most exciting periods in South African history. Minor rides are included. At an additional cost learners can enjoy the exciting thrill rides that will leave you trembling with excitement. This is a one hour tour – Wednesdays to Fridays.

Hartbeespoort Snake and Animal Park
Snuggled against the foot of the Magaliesburg on the eastern shore of the Hartbeespoort Dam, lies this most remarkable private park. The Park contains a seal pool surrounded by a large arena where visitors are given regular snake, seal and animal handling demonstrations. Learners will go on an exciting guided walk around the park where they can see a great variety of species including lions, tigers, and other big cats, as well as chimpanzees and other primates, hyenas, wild dogs, otters, birds and reptiles. They have one of the finest reptile collections in Southern Africa. The learners will be escorted to the arena where they will watch an informative and entertaining snake and seal demonstration (approx ½ hour).
After the show the group could go on a ferry boat ride (approx half an hour) at an extra cost or spend own time in the park.

GRADE R: A Sensory Introduction to the Season
GRADE 1: Sensory Exploration of the Garden and its plants
GRADE 2: Animals that live in water - An introduction of words like indigenous, alien and biodiversity
GRADE 3: Recycling, Reuse and Reduce
All programs have been based on the Curriculum Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS), linked well to the Life Skills, Language and Mathematics.
INTERMEDIATE, SENIOR AND FET PHASE EDUCATION
GRADE 4 - 5: Water Ecosystems - This Natural Science linked program deals with living and non-living things. Learners will deal with structure of plants and animals, their habitat and energy transfer.
GRADE 4 - 6: Ecology - Focus on the Natural Science and Technology subjects.
GRADE 6: Wetland Ecosystems - Organisms and their role in water. Visit the succulent and water-wise garden to explore the adaptions of water to different water conditions. Learners will explore the concept of Photosynthesis.
GRADE 6 - 7: Indigenous Knowledge
GRADE 7: Biodiversity - Reproduction and classification - Natural Science program which deals with biosphere: Lithosphere, Hydrosphere and Atmosphere.
GRADE 8: Ecosystems and Inter-relationships - Discover Biotic and abiotic components of the Grassland ecosystem. Discover habitats. An activity on Photosynthesis and energy flow in a Grassland food pyramid will be done.
GRADE 9: Global warming and responses - Knowledge focus - Understanding global warming and climate change, the spheres of the earth, different ecosystems, investigating climate change impact scenarios using photographs or map.
GRADE 10: Ecosystem Investigation - The learners will be given a power-point presentation on the grassland, and through the GDE provided worksheet, they will be guided in completing the activities. The equipment like thermometer, grass guide and plot markings will be provided.
All programs are accompanied by worksheets which learners can use as assessment tools and portfolio evidence once back at school. They are also activity-based and learner-centered across all subjects, reflecting the outcomes of the CAPS.

Walk through this beautiful and well maintained Montecasino Bird Gardens on your own.
No guided tours for now, but there are information boards on each enclosure. Attend the 20 minute bird presentation in the park at 11h00 and learn more about the birds.
There is a large lawn in front of the Montecasino Bird Park entrance where you can enjoy your packed lunch.
No food and drinks are allowed inside the park but you are welcome to bring your own packed lunch to enjoy.
Kiosk available where you can buy food and snacks.

Lesedi Cultural Village
A man without culture is like a Zebra without stripes! Visit Lesedi Cultural Village where it all happens. Lesedi Cultural Village was established in 1993 and is situated within the Cradle of Humankind from which Lesedi is the Cradle of the living African Culture. Lesedi is a showcase of the traditional cultures of some of the well-known African tribes who have their homes in South Africa. The learners will be welcomed with traditional song and dance where after they will attend a Traditional dance show and multi-visual theatre presentation in the Boma. Mapatiza offers on site a short underground mine tour of a replica combination of their company owned mines in Africa. This is a unique experience that takes learners through the life of a gemstone. From where it is mined to how it is sized and polished. Their popular stones are Amethyst, Citrine, Peridot, Garnet, Topaz, Tanzanite, Sapphire, Turquoise, Aquamarine, Agate, Carnelian, Jasper, Onyx, Crystal Quarts, Rose Quartz, Diamonds, Obsidian, Ruby, Emerald,Tourmaline, Opal, Zircon and South Africa's very own Tiger's Eye. There are 15 major fossil sites in the Cradle of Humankind , of which Sterkfontein Caves(‘strong spring’ Caves) is the most famous. The house now contains many personal possessions of Paul Kruger, the Boer leader and President of South African Republic, who lived here until 1900. The President's state and private railway coaches are also on display. A drive past the beautiful historic buildings on Church Square takes you to Melrose House. Melrose House was the residence of George Jesse Heys. The Treaty of Vereeniging was signed here on 31 May 1902 which ended the second Anglo Boer War.

Pioneer Museum
The Pioneer Museum is located in Silverton, Pretoria. Learners can experience a way of life that has irrevocably passed. The stories of the Pioneer Museum and 1848 house, and of the people who lived on the farm, Hartebeestpoort, are enacted against the background of the pioneer years in South Africa. The house was built of clay and local materials, with a thatched roof and earthen floors, and is furnished in the traditional 19th century rural style. The house is surrounded by a traditional herb and vegetable garden, orchard, furnished wagon house and vineyard. Well-trained guides in period clothing present curriculum-based educational programmes.

Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve and Wonder Cave
A visit to the famous Wonder Caves, a World heritage site, with formations enough to take your breath away and then onto the Rhino and Lion park Nature Reserve. The Reserve has more than 30 different species of animals, including a variety of cat species. They also have buffalo, white rhino, zebra, eland, wildebeest, springbuck, ostrich to lion, tiger, leopard, hyena, wild dog and many more. The Farm Yard
The Farm Yard is situated in Olifantsfontein and its educational programme gives the learners a real farm experience. The programme consists of an Arena Show which includes milking of a cow, lecture on cattle, sheep, goats and pigs, and a visit to the poultry enclosures with ducks, swans, etc. There are other animals on the farm i.e. horses, donkeys, tortoises, porcupines, camels, ostriches, etc. Learners must bring along their own animal food like bread, vegetables and fruit to feed the animals. A ride on the safari truck is also included. The morning excursion is for Primary schools only.
The Farm Yard excursion is only for pre-school and primary school learners up to Grade 3.

Van Gaalen Kaasmakerij cc
This family farm is situated at the feet of the majestic Magaliesberg Mountains and produce cheese according to traditional Dutch recipes. This educational though informal morning tour explains how cheese is made from collection of milk to the final product. This tour takes an hour and fifteen minutes and also includes a cheese tasting. Thereafter a cup of coffee or juice and a slice of Dutch apple cake is served.

Voortrekker Monument
The Voortrekker Monument, designed by Gerard Moerdyk, comprises huge figures of the Great Trek leaders on the four corners. The Monument is surrounded by a laager of life-size ox-wagons. The freeze on the inside of the Voortrekker Monument tells the story of the Voortrekkers. There is also a Voortrekker museum. Fort Schanskop, one of the four fords build after the Jamison Rades in 1896, commissioned by Paul Kruger was completed in 1897. Fords are build to protect Pretoria from their enemies.
